Dr. Adelaide “Addie” Smith grew up overseas and in the United States. She was born in London, England, and also lived in Poland and Hungary. She attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree(s) in History, Education, and Environmental Studies. After graduation, Dr. Smith worked as a ski patroller in Colorado for eight years. She and her dog, Flash, were even a certified Rapid Avalanche Deployment team. Her experiences taking care of sick and injured skiers as an EMT on ski patrol, motivated her to continue her education.
Dr. Smith attended medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, then pursued additional pediatrics training in upstate New York. Her special interests in pediatrics include newborn medicine, acute and emergency care, development, literacy, and procedures. Dr. Smith also enjoys teaching and loves working with families, as well as medical students and residents. She is enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated, and thrilled to be working at Western Colorado Pediatrics in our Grand Junction office.
You can find Dr. Smith spending her spare time outdoors doing it all! Skiing, hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, and rafting are her favorites. She also likes to garden, cook, read, and hang out with her Shetland sheepdog, Penny . As a new Grand Junction resident, she looks forward to doing all of these things in the Grand Valley.
