Docs on Call

DOCS on Call is a medical clinic providing patient care outside regular Primary Care Partners office hours. We offer an affordable alternative to the hospital emergency room for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The clinic is open during evenings, weekends, and holidays – appointments are required. Please call (970) 255-1576 as early as 8:00am the same day to make an appointment. DOCS on Call is an after-hours medical clinic provided by Primary Care Partners in service to our community.

PHYSICIANS

Jeanne Haberer,
Doctor of Osteopathy

Dr. Jeanne Haberer is from Detroit, Michigan. She joined DOCS on Call, a division of Primary Care Partners, in 2018. Prior to that, she was adjunct faculty at both Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her family practice training at St. Mary’s Medical Center and also trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Haberer completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Haberer strives to respond empathetically to her patients. She believes that treating patients with excellence involves using problem-solving skills to deliver the highest quality of patient care. She thrives in her role at the after-hours clinic to assist her patients with their urgent needs. Children and adolescents are some of her favorite patients to see in the clinic.

Dr. Haberer is the mother of two and enjoys jogging, hiking, paddleboarding, and gardening in her time away from work.

Paul Preston,
Doctor of Medicine

Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians

Dr. Paul Preston is an internal medicine physician who has been with DOCS on Call, a division of Primary Care Partners, since 2017. Dr. Preston is from Des Moines, Iowa, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Arizona, and his Internal Medicine training at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Preston takes pride in obtaining accurate and detailed clinical information to provide the proper diagnosis and treatment for his patients. His experience treating, diagnosing, and supervising patients and teams in clinics around the world has given him a broad perspective on global health, and he uses this knowledge daily in work at DOCS on Call.

Dr. Preston has traveled to 35 countries– he was even evacuated from Lebanon during one of his trips. He can be found playing the keyboard in a blues band in his spare time.

Brooke Terkovich,
Doctor of Medicine

Dr. Brooke Terkovich grew up in Jackson, WY, which fostered her love for the outdoors. She learned to ski, whitewater kayak, and climb, and also enjoyed hiking, backpacking, and camping in the mountains. At the age of 16, she took a Wilderness First Aid course, which sparked her passion for medicine.

Dr. Terkovich joined DOCS on Call in 2025. She attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, CO, and graduated with her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2023. She is on track to complete her residency at St. Mary’s Family Medicine in 2026.

While wilderness and adventure medicine remain strong interests for Dr. Terkovich, she has also developed a passion for the strong connections between patients and providers and enjoys the problem-solving aspects of medicine.

Natalie Downing,
Certified Physician Assistant

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Natalie relocated to Colorado in 1993. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and worked as a medical assistant before completing the Physician Assistant program at Red Rocks Community College in Denver in 2009.

Natalie has over 16 years of experience practicing geriatric medicine across a variety of settings, including post-acute care, long-term care, assisted living, memory care, and outpatient clinics. She moved to Grand Junction in 2024 and enjoys spending her free time hiking, rafting, canoeing, and keeping up with her energetic dogs.

Scott Hall,
Certified Physician Assistant

Scott is a native of the Grand Valley and graduated from Colorado Mesa University in 2009 before starting his post-graduate work. He completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies at Pacific University in Portland, OR in 2012. After graduating, he remained in Oregon and worked in Acute Care for six years before moving back to the Grand Valley. Scott has a special interest in ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) care and urgent care. A desire to help others is what brought Scott to the medical field and he has been bringing friendly, excellent healthcare to patients at DOCS on Call since 2022.

Outside of the office, Scott enjoys mountain biking and cycling as well as hiking and camping with his wife and three children.

Lauren Smith,
Certified Physician Assistant

Lauren Smith is originally from rural central New Mexico, where she attended Eastern New Mexico University and earned her undergraduate degree in 2014. After graduation, she started a career as a paramedic for six years, in both Texas and the Front Range of Colorado. Lauren’s interest in family and urgent care led her to pursue a degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She moved to Grand Junction, CO, and earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2023 from Colorado Mesa University.

Since moving to Grand Junction, Lauren fell in love with the Western Slope and has provided friendly, professional care to patients at DOCS on Call since 2023. When not working, she enjoys many of the outdoor activities the Western Slope has to offer, such as hiking, camping, floating on the river, and skiing.
