This summer Grand Junction Diagnostics, a division of Primary Care Partners, is excited to offer echocardiogram services to our patients. We are proud to introduce this added health screening benefit to our wide range or screening and diagnostic services that we offer. No longer do PCP patients need to visit an outside clinic to receive this service, it will be performed in-office at Grand Junction Diagnostics at our PCP Care Village office. The echocardiogram is a non-invasive diagnostic test that is commonly used to diagnose and monitor various heart conditions, including heart valve disease, coronary artery disease, and heart failure. The benefits of an echocardiogram are many and it is an important tool in diagnosing and treating heart disease.

What is an echocardiogram?

A non-invasive and safe procedure, an echocardiogram uses sound waves to create image of the heart. There is no risk of radiation exposure, and the procedure does not require any incisions or injections.

When an echocardiogram is performed, a device called a transducer is passed across a patient’s chest and sends sound waves safely and painlessly through to a patient’s heart. The sound waves bounce off of the structures they encounter, return to the transducer, and then that device sends them to a computer. The computer then turns the sound waves into amazingly detailed images.

Echocardiograms are highly accurate in diagnosing various heart conditions. The images produced by an echocardiogram can provide detailed information about the size, shape, and function of the heart, as well as the condition of the heart valves and blood vessels. The procedure can provide real-time results, allowing providers to make quick and accurate diagnoses and treatment decisions. Patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure.

An echocardiogram can also help detect heart conditions early, before symptoms become severe. This early detection can be crucial in preventing further damage to the heart and improving treatment outcomes. They are also used for treatment monitoring, for example if a patient has undergone a surgical procedure to repair a heart valve.

As your Healthcare Destination, Primary Care Partners anticipates that our patients will appreciate the convenience and quality of care that is available under one roof. We are dedicated to serving our valued patients and we are proud to offer this added service to Grand Junction Diagnostics’ comprehensive and accurate patient care.
