Docs on Call

DOCS on Call is a medical clinic providing patient care outside regular Primary Care Partners office hours. It offers an affordable alternative to the hospital emergency room for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The clinic is open during evenings, weekends, and holidays – please call to make an appointment before arriving. To schedule an after-hours appointment, call as early as 8:00 a.m.. DOCS on Call is an after-hours medical clinic provided by Primary Care Partners in service to our community.

Paul Preston,
Doctor of Medicine

Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians

Dr. Paul Preston is an internal medicine physician who has been with DOCS on Call, a division of Primary Care Partners, since 2017. Dr. Preston is from Des Moines, Iowa, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Arizona, and his Internal Medicine training at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Preston takes pride in obtaining accurate and detailed clinical information to provide the proper diagnosis and treatment for his patients. His experience treating, diagnosing, and supervising patients and teams in clinics around the world has given him a broad perspective on global health, and he uses this knowledge daily in work at DOCS on Call.

Dr. Preston has traveled to 35 countries– he was even evacuated from Lebanon during one of his trips. He can be found playing the keyboard in a blues band in his spare time.

Jeanne Haberer,
Doctor of Osteopathy

Dr. Jeanne Haberer is from Detroit, Michigan. She joined DOCS on Call, a division of Primary Care Partners, in 2018. Prior to that, she was adjunct faculty at both Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her family practice training at St. Mary’s Medical Center and also trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Haberer completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Haberer strives to respond empathetically to her patients. She believes that treating patients with excellence involves using problem-solving skills to deliver the highest quality of patient care. She thrives in her role at the after-hours clinic to assist her patients with their urgent needs. Children and adolescents are some of her favorite patients to see in the clinic.

Dr. Haberer is the mother of two and enjoys jogging, hiking, paddleboarding, and gardening in her time away from work.

Mitchell Darnell,
Doctor of Medicine

Dr. Mitchell Darnell is a Doctor of Medicine who started at DOCS on Call in 2024. He obtained his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, FL in 2022, and will be completing his residency at St. Mary’s Family Medicine Residency Program in Grand Junction. Dr. Darnell is originally from a rural town near Tallahassee in the Florida panhandle. With an outgoing personality, Dr. Darnell found the opportunity to connect with and help individuals from all walks of life an important part of what brought him to the field of medicine.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Darnell enjoys spending his time anywhere outdoors alongside his wife and their dog, finding live music to enjoy, and traveling. He has traveled to 17 countries and lived in the UK during college.

Jon Freckleton,
Doctor of Osteopathy

Dr. Jon Freckleton is a board-certified family physician who joined DOCS on Call in 2024. Originally from Rochester, New York, Dr. Freckleton began his medical education with a BA in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1997. From there he attended The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME, receiving his medical license in 2005. Dr. Freckleton completed his family practice residency at both the Colorado Springs Foundation of Osteopathic Medicine in Craig, CO, and at Pacific Hospital in Long Beach, CA.

As a lifetime coach and athlete, he began his athletic career as a cyclist and Nordic skier, which led him to multiple international competitions and a year in Norway. He continued coaching and racing during medical school and after completing his medical licensure, was able to put his medical skills to use to help his athletes train properly as well as dramatically shorten healing time, as well as relieve everyday ailments such as depression, asthma, and pain through acupuncture, osteopathy, and nutrition.

Dr. Freckleton brings friendly professional care to Docs on Call and has extensive rural and wilderness medicine training, is experienced in urgent care, complementary medicine coaching, and performance medicine. He is also trained in OMT (osteopathic manipulative treatment) and acupuncture.
In his free time, Dr. Freckleton enjoys riding bikes “of all types”, including road, mountain, and dirt bikes, and has raced Enduro MTB. He also likes skiing and is interested in old cars.
