What We're Seeing in the Office . . .

The flu has arrived in Mesa County!

Key symptoms are a sudden onset of muscle aches, fever and sore throat. Sometimes diarrhea or nausea can be present, but more often the complaints are mostly respiratory.

As with other contagious illnesses, the best prevention is frequent hand-washing, and keeping your hands away from your nose and eyes.

We're also seeing cases of RSV. For kids, it's a bad cold, but for infants and toddlers under two years of age, it can result in breathing difficulties which would require immediate care.

If a medical concern develops after office hours, remember to call your physician first, or DOCS ON CALL at 255-1576, before heading off to the emergency room, unless of course, you feel your situation is life-threatening.
