Healthy Steps
We offer a unique service to new parents, called Healthy Steps, to help them navigate the challenges of child-raising during the first three years of life. It's available at no cost to our patients, and for patients of Family Physicians of Western Colorado.
Whether it's welcoming a new baby or coping with teething or the "terrible two's," Healthy Steps provides support for new parents as a free service of Western Colorado Pediatric Associates, a division of Primary Care Partners, P.C. Patients of Family Physicians of Western Colorado, another Primary Care Partners practice group, can also use the service.
The visits are typically tied to the Well-Child check-ups. First they visit with the Healthy Steps specialist, and then see the doctor. The value of reading is emphasized during each of those check ups and each child is presented with a book.
Other services available to parents include home visits, informational materials, access to phone support, and referrals to other community resources.
Healthy Steps is located in the offices of Western Colorado Pediatric Associates in the Primary Care Partners building. Anyone interested in these services can contact Cathie Clark, Healthy Steps specialist, by calling 970-254-2525 or 970-254-2527.
